Maximacs grows and exports Macadamia Nuts, and is also a "bridge with Africa" by sourcing, repacking and distributing Pecan Nuts, Cashew Nuts and Dried Fruit from our extensive network of Southern African farmers. Our London office puts us in close proximity to Europe, Asia, Middle East and North America.
History: The Lombaard family first started to grow and export Proteas (a South African flower) to Europe in the mid-1980’s. By early 2000’s the family bought a 438 hectare tobacco farm in Northeast South Africa, and converted it into a Macadamia farm. It was soon clear that value-added Macadamia Nuts presented an opportunity in the market, and a new HACCP certified factory was built on the farm. Along with launching their retail products, Maximacs opened a London office in 2007 in order to be closer to their European and North American clients. Their contacts in the market meant that they developed several strong relationships with other nut and fruit farmers around Southern Africa, and by 2011 they have formed alliances with farmers and processors in five African countries, creating a source of consistent quality control and supply.
